About Hayley
I’m Hayley Allen—a mom of three boys, one of whom sent me on a life-changing journey to understand mood disorders. When my son was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at nine, I quickly embraced his psychiatrist’s treatment plan, terrified by the fate of his biological father, who lost his battle with mental illness at 39. I believed medication was the only way to prevent history from repeating itself.
For a while, it worked—but not well. We cycled through increasing doses, mood stabilizers, anti-anxiety meds, antipsychotics, and attention enhancers. We were surviving, not thriving. I could feel the medication barely masking his deep distress, and eventually, it all came crashing down.
By 12, he was a danger to himself and others. The violent outbursts and manic episodes forced me to consider inpatient treatment. But deep down, I knew the medical system wouldn’t help him truly thrive. Seeking alternatives, I discovered that mood disorders aren’t just a “brain” issue but a whole-body imbalance. Through gentle approaches like craniosacral therapy, mineral balancing, and healing what I call “the inflamed brain,” his mood stabilized, and for the first time, he found ease.
Today, he’s a successful athlete and student, forming friendships I once thought impossible. This journey opened my eyes to the body’s power to heal. With grit and consistency, we don’t have to rely solely on traditional medicine to find relief.
Now, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned so other families may find hope too—because life-changing information must be shared freely for the common good of everyone.
